Alexandra Hertzfeldt – Psychologist

Alex is a warm, compassionate and client focused Psychologist, currently holding General Registration with the AHPRA. Prior to commencing her career in Psychology Alex worked in the healthcare sector in Germany supporting frontline doctors with clinical pathology analyses. Alex is adept at building strong relationships with clients of all ages from varied culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. She has a wealth of experience working with individuals displaying a range of concerns including Anxiety, Depression, trauma, stress, substance misuse, work related problems as well as re-settlement and migration issues. Alex utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She maintains a non-judgmental, warm and personable approach, with unconditional positive regard towards her clients within therapy. Her therapeutic style is founded on collaboration between her as the therapist and the client, through a therapeutic alliance, resulting in successful outcomes for the clients she works with. Alex’s perspective is highly integrative, largely influenced by positive Psychology, with an innate curiosity to explore behavioural traits and their implication on clients emotional well-being. Alex has a background in working with Lifeline Australia as well as Forensic Services and is currently employed by Relationships Australia as an Educator.
