Rozelle Medical Centre is an accredited family medical practice open 7 days a week. We are open 8am-6pm weekdays and 9am-1pm on Weekends. We have Australian trained General Practitioners, nurses and onsite pathology. We offer a range of allied health services including physiotherapy, psychology, podiatry, dietetics and exercise physiology.
We are located at 670 Darling Street, Rozelle (near the intersection of Victoria Road). Will disabled parking available on National Street. We serve patients from Rozelle, Balmain, Birchgrove, Lilyfield, Drummoyne and the surrounding Inner west areas. We look forward to meeting you and your family.

RSV VACCINES AVAILABLE AT ROZELLE
From May 15, 2026, the RSV vaccine is free – government funded – under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for:
adults aged 75 and over, and Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander adults aged 60 and over.
Older Adults :
All people aged 75 years and older.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60 years and older.
Payment is required at the time of your consultation. We can process your Medicare rebate on the spot for you.
Please note that our reception team cannot advise the exact fee you will be charged at the time of booking. The below fees and rebates are a guide only.
The doctor will determine the Medicare item number to be charged on the day of your appointment based on the Length and Complexity of your consultation.
A ‘Standard’ appointment is usually for one main issue/medical need.
A ‘Long’ appointment is usually for more than one issue/medical need.
A ‘Extended’ appointment is for several complex issues/medical needs.
Appointments on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays are considered premium services and will attract a $20 – $40 higher fee than weekday appointments.
NON ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Please note a Non-Attendance Fee of $50 weekdays and $60 on weekends is payable if a patient does not attend their doctor’s appointment or if the appointment is cancelled with less than 2 hours’ notice.
Allied health:
Psychologist: – If a patient fails to give 24 hour’s notice or does not attend, a Full appointment fees applies
Dietitian: – If a patient fails to give 48 hours’ notice or does not attend, a Full appointment fees applies
VACCINES & PROCEDURAL FEES:
For all vaccination and procedural costs please ask one of our friendly receptionists. Your doctor will explain any additional costs to you and obtain your consent prior to receiving treatment.
Travel vaccines will incur a private fee for the purchase of the vaccine as they are not covered by Medicare.
MEDICALS
Pre-employment medical assessments and other medical assessments are also privately billed. The cost will depend on the length and complexity of the medical assessment. Reception are able to give a price guide but cost will be determined by the doctor at time of consult.

If this is your first visit to the practice, please bring the following to your first consultation:
A valid Medicare card if you have one (check expiry date) and a Photo ID (eg driver’s licence/student card)
Please arrive 5 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time to fill in necessary paperwork including a New Patient Registration Form ( Which can be downloaded and pre-filled by clicking here: New Patient Registration Form)
If you are a Workcover patient, you will need to inform your Employer prior to the consultation and bring your employer’s contact details for verification to arrange payment through Workcover
If you are coming for a consultation on the Weekend or you are a Private patient or you intend on having a procedure eg Dressings/Suturing/Vaccinations, please bring a form of payment. We accept Cash, Eftpos and Credit Cards. We do not accept Cheques.

There is street parking and council parking available in Rozelle. The nearest council parking lot is accessible via National Street.
Do you accept new patients?
Yes, all new patients are welcome.
If I don’t have Medicare can I still see a doctor?
Yes, however you will need to settle the consult privately.
Why is there a fee for my appointment?
At Rozelle Medical Centre we provide a high quality medical service that is not fully covered by Medicare.
Medicare Patients with a Centerlink Pension or HealthCare card and children under 16, will recieve a $20 discount
A Private Fee will apply for all other consultation. Please see fee table under fees’. Patients with a valid Medicare card will be eligible for a Medicare Rebate. if they have attended the practice in person in the last 12 months for telwhealth consult (Medicare ruling)
Payment will be collected prior to the consultation, via a secure payment request we send from Hotdoc, or over the phone. Medicare rebates will be processed online to save you the hassle.
Note: – We charge an After hours fee on weekends and public holidays will attract a 2$5 to $45 out of pocket fee than weekdays.
Do I need to make an appointment?
We accept walk-in and booked appointments. We recommend booking at your preferred time as we cannot guarantee wait times for patients who come in without an appointment. Our doctors aim to see all patients in a timely manner. Please use our online appointment booking platform, or call our practice to make a telephone appointment with one of our GP’s.
Do I need a long consult?
Our appointments are booked in a standard slot of 15 minutes which usually allows discussion of one matter. Long consultations can be booked upon the doctor’s recommendation, or if you have a number of matters to discuss. Please advise our receptionists if you would like an extended appointment.
Can I have a phone consult?
Phone consultations are offered by our practice. if you have not attended a face to face appointment within the last 12 months, you will not be eligible for a Medicare, unless quarantined as per government guidelines. Before booking a phone consult. Please consider if appropriate, as a fee may still apply. Please call our practice in unsure. We recommend booking an appointment to discuss any health issues with your GP via our online platform

How do I get my test results?
Test results will not be given be given over the phone. Our doctors request that you attend the centre for your results. Phone appointments or video appointments are also available for this appointment type
What if I need to see a doctor after hours?
If you require after hours medical assistance of a non-urgent nature, please call 02 7252 1599. A private fee of $200 applies to all after hours consultations.
For any urgent medical care please call 000.
Do you send out appointment reminders?
Yes we do. Our system will automatically send a reminder sms 24 hours before your appointment.
For allied health appointments, we will send a reminder 2 days before your appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 1 hours’ notice to cancel GP appointments and 48hours notice for allied health appointments, failure to do so will result in a non-attendance fee of 50%. for Allied Health & $50 fee for GP consult on weekdays and $60 for weekends
Why do I need to see the nurse?
The nurse assists the doctor to ensure you receive the highest standard of care. The nurse may assist in procedures and take some observations before your consult so the doctor has a more complete picture of your health.
Why is my doctor running late?
Our doctors and receptionists are not able to pre-empt how long an appointment will take. Seemingly simple problems may need further exploration and discussion. Our doctors are thorough and will not ask a patient to leave until they are confident the highest standard of care has been given. This may cause a delay. Occasionally an unforeseen emergency patient may require medical attention and need to be fitted in. We ask for your understanding in these incidences.
Can I get my medical certificate/referral changed or backdated?
If you would like your medical certificate extended, you will need to return to your GP for an appointment so they can evaluate your condition.
We are not able to backdate medical certificates past the day you saw the doctor for the condition.
Can I get my records transferred to/from your practice?
Yes, if you would like your records sent to us please ask reception for a ‘transfer of record form’ which we will send to your previous practice.
If you would like your records sent elsewhere, please send us your signed consent form and new practice details. Your new practice will have a template for you to fill in.
Do I need an appointment with Pathology?
If you have a pathology request form from your doctor, you do not need to make an appointment. Our pathology services are offered on an as-you-arrive basis. However, if you require a glucose tolerance test (GTT or OGTT) please contact reception to book in.
Do I need to fast for my blood tests?
Your doctor will give you instructions for your blood test during your consult. If you are unsure, please contact reception and we can transfer you to our pathology collector.
Do you have X-ray facilitates?
We do not have imaging on site; the nearest facility is Alfred Imaging in Drummoyne.
