Cervical Cancer Screening:

The Cervical Screening Test (CST) is now the recommended method for detecting cervical cancer. It is similar to the Pap smear and is performed during a speculum examination. 

The collected cells are tested for HPV. If the results are normal, it is recommended to repeat the CST every five years. Why wait? Vaccination against HPV is recommended and is available at Nuvo Health Clinics.

Breast Checks:

1 in 7 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, making it essential for women over the age of 40 to regularly perform self-examinations or come for a screening.

Contraception:

We understand each patient is unique, therefore the doctors at Nuvo Health Medical centers can assist in choosing the right contraception method for your needs.

Aside from oral contraceptive medications, there are also long-acting and reversible options available. These include Implanon NXT® and IUD’s. To discuss options further, book an appointment with us.

Menopause:

Menopause is different for each woman. Whilst undergoing menopause, you may experience a variety of changes and concerns surrounding your health.

We recommend that if you’re experiencing any negative effects or have concerns – don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. On average, women experience menopause at 50, but it can happen earlier or later.

Evaluation and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs):

STIs, or sexually transmitted infections, should be tested for regularly, and treated immediately. If left untreated, STIs can lead to serious health complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, and even certain cancers.

Additionally, untreated STIs can be easily spread to sexual partners, leading to a wider spread of the infection. Prompt treatment can not only protect your own health, but also prevent the spread of the infection to your partner.
