Dr Aprille Barrientos
Aprille (she/her) completed the Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2018. She spent three years working in the western suburb hospitals of Melbourne gaining experience in Paediatrics, Women's Health, Emergency Medicine and Aged Care. She commenced her General Practice training in 2022 in various clinics around Victoria. Aprille grew up in the Western Suburbs of Sydney and attended the University of Sydney to complete her undergraduate Bachelor of Medical Science degree with an Honours year of research. She recently returned from Melbourne to be closer to her family after the birth of first child. Her special interests include medical education (with continuing Mentorship roles with the University of Melbourne), Women's Health and Antenatal/Pregnancy Medicine, Children's health (Completed the Sydney University Child Health Program) and Sexual and Reproductive health (Trained in Implanon Insertion, Medical Termination of Pregnancy and holds a FPAA National Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health). When not in the clinic, she enjoys cooking/baking, exploring new restaurants and wineries, going for walks and spending time with her friends, family and her beloved dog, Charlotte.
