Rail Medicals

We offer Category 1, 2 & 3 Rail Medicals with our Authorised Health Professional (AHP) at Birkenhead Medical Centre.

Preparation:

  • Bring a valid photo ID (e.g. driver’s licence), as your medical cannot proceed without it.
  • If you wear glasses, contact lenses or hearing aids, please bring them with you.
  • Wear appropriate underwear, as you’ll need to undress to your underwear for the examination and provide a urine sample.
  • Avoid loud noise, including loud music, for at least 16 hours before your appointment to ensure accurate hearing test results.
  • You may be required to undergo urine drug screening for substances including cannabis, opiates, methamphetamines, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine and alcohol.
  • Additional tests, such as an ECG, drug and alcohol testing, spirometry or audiology, may be required and will incur additional fees.
