Surry Hills Medical Practice

Surry Hills Medical Practice is a Family Medical Practice open 7 days a week (including Saturday and Sunday). We have Australian trained General Practitioners (GP doctors), nurses, pathology, psychologist and dietitian. We are a private billing practice however discounted rates are available for patients with Pension/Concession card and for children under 16 years of age during weekdays.

Located at 586 Crown Street, Surry Hills 2010, our practice is newly built and offers state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.

We accept walk-in patients and appointments over the phone, online via this website or HotDocs app. We serve all patients from Surry Hill, CBD, and beyond Sydney. We look forward to meeting you and your family.

    Practice Fees

    We are a mixed-billing practice – we bulk-bill patients with a valid Medicare Card aged 18 and under, students and patients with a valid Pension Concession Card from Centrelink.

    For all other patients there will be a private fee and we can process your Medicare Rebate on the spot for you.

    Standard Consultation $108 Rebate is currently $43.90

    Long Consultation $160 Rebate is currently $84.90

     

    Saturday Appointments

    Standard Consultation $118 Rebate is currently $43.90

    Long Consultation $170 Rebate is currently $84.90

     

    Sunday Appointments

    Standard Consultation $133 Rebate is currently $56.90

    Long Consultation $170 Rebate is currently $$97.50

     

    Payment is accepted by Cash, Eftpos, Visa or MasterCard at the time of your consultation.

    Practice Policies

    Cancellation / Non-Attendance policy

    If you do not attend your appointment, a non-attendance fee will be charged at the discretion of the practice.

    Patients that repeatedly miss their appointments will be charged the full consultation rate (No Medicare rebate will be applicable).

    All cancellation fees must be paid prior to booking your next appointment.

    Privacy Policy

    Your medical record is confidential. The practice maintains the security of your personal health information at all times and ensures that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.

    The Practice adheres to the National Privacy Principles covering the way we collect, store, use and disclose information.

    Email Policy

    Emails are not a means for emergency contact or urgent appointment requests, We endeavour to reply to email but this may not be possible within a few days. Surry Hills Medical Practice recognises the dependence and ease of electronic communication via email in society but also acknowledges the limitations in security when dealing with confidential documents and material in healthcare.

    New Patients

    If this is your first visit to the practice, please bring the following to your first consultation:

    •  A valid Medicare card if you have one (check expiry date) and a Photo ID (eg driver’s licence/student card)
    • Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time to fill in necessary paperwork including a New Patient Registration Form (Can be downloaded and pre-filled by clicking here: New Patient Registration Form)
    • If you are a Workcover patient, you will need to inform your Employer prior to the consultation and bring your employer’s contact details for verification to arrange payment through Workcover
    • If you are coming for a consultation as a walk in, on the Weekend, Public Holiday or you are a Private patient (without a Valid Medicare card) or you intend on having a procedure eg Dressings/Suturing/Vaccinations, please bring a form of payment. We accept Cash, Eftpos and Credit Cards. We do not accept Cheques.

    If you need to change your appointment time please inform us as soon as possible on (02) 8332 2666 to avoid late cancellation fees.
