Rail Medicals

We offer Category 1, 2 & 3 Rail Medicals with our Authorised Health Professional (AHP) at Birkenhead Medical Centre.

Preparation:

Bring a valid photo ID (e.g. driver’s licence), as your medical cannot proceed without it.
If you wear glasses, contact lenses or hearing aids, please bring them with you.
Wear appropriate underwear, as you’ll need to undress to your underwear for the examination and provide a urine sample.
Avoid loud noise, including loud music, for at least 16 hours before your appointment to ensure accurate hearing test results.
You may be required to undergo urine drug screening for substances including cannabis, opiates, methamphetamines, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine and alcohol.
Additional tests, such as an ECG, drug and alcohol testing, spirometry or audiology, may be required and will incur additional fees.
