Dr Steven Leibman
Dr Steve Leibman is a general, upper gastrointestinal and bariatric (weight loss) surgeon. Steve completed his medical degree at NSW University and achieved his surgical fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2002.His areas of surgical interest include surgery for gallstone disease, hernias, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, hiatus hernia surgery, robotic surgery, and surgery for oesophageal and gastric cancer.He performs a range of laparoscopic weight loss operations including sleeve gastrectomy and gastric bypass, and has run a comprehensive weight loss clinic for over 15 years.Steve is extensively published in the surgical literature and his research interests include gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, Hiatus hernia, upper gastrointestinal cancer and weight loss surgery.Steve is associated with the University of Sydney and has a teaching role at Royal North Shore Hospital. He trains medical students, junior doctors, surgeons in training, and post fellowship surgical fellows. He works in both public and private practice and is happy to see patients at short notice
